With a career spanning two decades, the Freestylers have traversed the full spectrum of Bass Music. They’ve graced the stages of major festivals, the hottest nightclubs worldwide, and even the iconic Top Of The Pops. Co-founders Aston and Mat, driven by their mutual love for Hip-Hop, Electro, and Beats, released their first albums ‘We Rock Hard’ and ‘Pressure Point’ on the renowned Freskanova label. Their journey continued with ‘Raw as F**K’ and ‘Adventures In Freestyle’ under ‘Against The Grain’, gaining acclaim such as being voted ‘Best Band’ by Muzik Magazine in ’98 and touring with Lenny Kravitz on his American Woman Tour.
From rocking a 30,000-strong crowd at Glastonbury ’99 to performing at MTV’s Times Square Millennium Party and Big Day Out ’05, their adventures have been monumental. Known for anthems like ‘Punks’, ‘Boom Blast’, ‘Fasten Your Seat-Belts’, ‘Painkiller’, and the globally acclaimed ‘Push Up’, their music has also graced films like Zoolander and Hey Dude Where’s My Car. Their latest endeavors, including the Bassline House/Breaks hybrid sound of ‘Spread Love’ and upcoming releases like ‘Hypnotic Eyez’ and ‘Club Tracks Vol IV’, underscore their ongoing influence and commitment to rocking the dancefloor worldwide.
Plump DJs, comprising UK duo Andy Gardner and Lee Rous, are internationally renowned as co-creators of the Breakbeat genre in dance music. Their journey began in Central London’s Soho, where they continue to craft their unique “Plump Music” style blending bass and groove. With a career spanning over two decades, they’ve amassed a discography of over 100 singles and award-winning albums, initially on Fingerlickin Records and now with UK bass and breaks label Punks Music.
Their breakthrough came with the seminal album “A Plump Night Out” on Fingerlickin Records, catapulting them to global recognition. Collaborations with icons like Mark Ronson, Deadmau5, and Fatboy Slim further solidified their influence. Their residency at Fabric Nightclub and performances at renowned venues like XOYO and Ministry of Sound underscore their stature in London’s nightlife scene.
Beyond the UK, Plump DJs have graced the stages of premier festivals such as Boomtown, Glastonbury, Coachella, and Fuji Rock, as well as top nightclubs worldwide including Space Ibiza and Avalon LA. Their recent successes include topping Beatport charts with “Invincible” and remixing tracks for The Crystal Method&FFS.
Looking ahead, Plump DJs continue to innovate with new releases, including collaborations with The Freestylers and their upcoming album “Plump DJs REPLUMPED Vol 1”, featuring highlights from their illustrious career.
